MDA Uses Donations Efficiently:
- Almost all funding comes from voluntary private donations raised throughout the year. The Association seeks no governmental funding, United Way funds or fees from those it serves. MDA is consistently rated one of the most efficient of nation voluntary health agencies.
- 77% of every dollar MDA spends goes directly to research, health care services and education.
- MDA has provided $85 million this year for its Health Care Services program.
- MDA maintains some 225 hospital-affiliated clinics, including 37 MDA/ALS Centers
- MDA Clinics are staffed by teams of top health professionals skilled at diagnosis and medical management of neuromuscular diseases. Services provided at MDA clinics my include occupational therapy, selected diagnostic tests, genetic counseling, respiratory therapy and more.
- MDA sponsored 90 weeklong summer camp sessions in 2008, serving more than 4,000 young people across the country and in Puerto Rico.

MDA in southwestern Pennsylvania: Funds raised at the 2009 Pittsburgh Muscle Team Event will help local families living with neuromuscular diseases. MDA provides the following services to families in the southwestern Pennsylvania area.
