About MDA

MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education. MDA is one of the world's leading national health agencies, fostering research and patient care. MDA's programs are funded by individual and private contributors. The Association does not seek or receive government grants or United Way funds.

MDA's network of clinics includes Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. These clinics offer services that include diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitative care, physical, occupational, respiratory, and speech therapy consults. Other services include access to a national equipment loan program, assistance with durable medical equipment repairs, support groups, seasonal and H1N1 flu shots and transitional resources for young people entering adulthood.
