The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a dedicated partnership
of scientists and citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular
diseases. MDA is one of the world’s leading national health
agencies, fostering research and patient care. MDA's programs
are funded by individual and private contributors.

The Association does not seek or receive government grants or
United Way funds. As part of its worldwide research efforts,
MDA's network of clinics includes Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. These clinics offer services that include diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitative care, physical, occupational and respiratory therapy consults, assistance with the purchase and repairs of wheelchairs, leg braces and scooters, flu inoculations, support groups, genetic counseling, recreational activities and summer camp programs.
